Happy New Year!
Welcome to the first Market Overview for 2008 and what a start to the year it has been!
The weather has been causing problems for vegetable supplies with most crops in very short supply. The rain in the northern states, coupled with the heat in the southern states, has seen nearly every major growing district affected by the weather in some shape or form. Heavy rain meant that most crops couldn't be harvested and crops were damaged, while the heat has been responsible for a lack of quality product out of the south. Squash, lettuce and capsicums are all expected to have sharp price increases this week.
Fruit, on the other hand, is still in good supply, with most varieties available and of good quality. | January 2017 News Items January 2008 News Items December 2007 News Items November 2007 News Items October 2007 News Items September 2007 News Items
